THE SWEDISH KITCHEN

FIKA
The FIKA tradition is a well-known Swedish custom when meeting friends or relations while drinking coffee or tea with something nice to eat.

SMÖRGÅS

Smörgåsar are traditionally crafted small pieces of art on Danish rye bread. Initially common as luncheon, nowadays consumed any time during the day at any type of occasion.

TUNNBRÖD
Tunnbröd is a flat bread, baked in a traditional way in Scandinavia.
It is used in different wraps and very popular as luncheon meals.
Also as 'snittar' (slices) at meetings, drinks and receptions.

HUSMANSKOST
The Swedish kitchen counts many simple dishes, referred to as 'husmanskost'.
Many of these dishes can be bought, at low cost, during luncheon hours, in many restaurants in the cities.
